Dear Birth Mother,
Though we have never met, we have something in common: we both want your
child to have a future that is full of love, joy, and opportunities to
fulfill his or her dreams. My husband and I have prayed for a child for many
years, and we are ready (financially, emotionally, and spiritually) for the
immeasurable joy a baby would bring to our lives.
Jon and I have been married for over six years and we are best friends. Both of us come from large families, so there has never been any question that we would have children. When we weren’t able to have children of our own, we realized that starting a family is not about giving birth to a child. It’s about the love, joy and happiness that comes along with bringing someone into your family, regardless of how he or she arrives. We are ready for the amazing journey that awaits us.
As you will see from our portfolio, we are very active and
love spending time with friends and family. From mountain trips to weeks at
the beach to football games in the fall, Jon and I live our lives to the
fullest. Though I love traveling with Jon, I also spend time with my closest
girlfriends, and we try to get together a few times a year to catch up with
one another.
Education has always been very important to us. We both work in public schools, so we know that a solid education is one of the keys to a life of opportunity and freedom. Our child would be encouraged and supported in fulfilling his or her dreams, wherever they may lead. We would also be committed to instilling values of love, respect, integrity, and honor in our child. Nothing is more important than respect for self and others. It is the foundation upon which a healthy child can grow.
We have discussed plans for child care, and we feel strongly that a mother should do everything in her power to be home with her children. I plan to stay home (or possibly teach evening classes part-time) with our child. My mother was always able to stay home with my brothers, sister, and me when we were young. She made our breakfast in the mornings, and was there when we returned home from school to make sure we started our homework right away. I want to be available to my child from the beginning (physically and emotionally). I understand how this sacrifice can allow me to be there for my child in the most important way.
Finally, a word of thanks to you: I am humbled by your decision to place your child for adoption. I cannot begin to imagine the strength and courage you must posses. Thank you for your selfless decision to share your gift with those who would love and cherish it for a lifetime. Please know that I am and will continue to pray for you and your child.
Your Child’s Adoptive Mother,
Lainey
