Non-Profit SC Adoption Agency
A Chosen Child Adoption Services was licensed as a Child Placing Agency (CPA) by the South Carolina Department of Social Services in 2002. The agency has also been awarded 501C (3) non-profit status by the US Internal Revenue Service.
ACCAS was founded by Denice Fisher, MSW. She has over 25 years of adoption experience. Her objective for establishing A Chosen Child Adoption Services is to provide personalized, confidential and professional services to all parties of the adoption triad. Her belief is that every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a loving family. In addition, her goal is to facilitate each child’s adoption in a timely manner.
A Chosen Child Adoption Services provides adoption services to South Carolina families with the help of licensed and experienced social workers, known as adoption specialists or certified adoption investigators. Our staff is highly qualified and passionate about helping prospective adoptive parents and eligible children come together through adoption.
Several of our adoption specialists are also adoptive parents themselves. ACCAS staff members have between 5 to 27 years of professional experience in the adoption field. Their expertise provides our clients with a wealth of adoption knowledge.

We offer guidance to assist families through the entire international adoption process. Our comprehensive international adoption services are available to help families to successfully complete the adoption process in a timely manner. Many of our families have adopted children from Guatemala, China, Russia, Colombia, Ukraine, Taiwan, the Philippines, Viet Nam and Thailand.
SC Birth Parent and Adoption Home Study Services
A Chosen Child Adoption Services is a licensed South Carolina adoption agency that provides SC birth parent services for pregnant women and domestic adoption services for prospective adoptive parents adopting in the United States. Birth parent services include counseling; help with collateral services and financial assistance. When a birth parent chooses to make an adoption plan, our goal is to help her find the ideal family for her child.
We help prospective adoptive parents to qualify to adopt a child, based on South Carolina state laws. The first step is to complete a SC adoption home study. A home study is an in-depth process that prospective adoptive parents must go through to be able to legally adopt a child.
South Carolina home studies typically includes one to four visits with an ACCAS staff member who is a certified adoption specialist. In addition to providing parent education, the certified adoption specialist also obtains the necessary information and documentation to write a detailed report, known as the pre-placement investigation or summary. Topics such as motivation for adoption, parenting ideals, medical history, employment verification, financial status, and criminal background checks are discussed. At least one visit must be made in the prospective adoptive parents’ home.
